The main characteristics of a seamless steel pipe (GOST 8732-78)
За методом прокату виділяють основні види:
- steel seamless hot-deformed pipes (assortment according to GOST 8732-78);
- steel seamless cold-formed pipes (assortment according to GOST 8734-78).
Seamless hot-rolled (hot-deformed) pipe according to GOST 8732-78 is produced using the technology of hot deformation of rolled metal pipes. The dimensions of the outer diameter of the pipes are within 25 – 700 mm, the wall thickness can vary: 2.5 mm – 75 mm. Dimensions: measured length (mira) – within 9, 12 meters, non-measured length (ndl) – 4-12 meters.
In the production process, hot-rolled pipes according to GOST 8732 are carefully checked for bending, flattening, and impact toughness. Their chemical composition is controlled.
Cold-formed pipes are made of alloy and carbon steel. Their diameter can be 5 – 140 mm. Distinguish: thick-walled, thin-walled pipes.
